The Bicycle Resource Center is our flagship project. The BRC is a hands-on bicycle workshop where Chainbreaker members who have gone through one of our training programs help others get a used bike and learn how to repair and tune it up. Since we aren’t a service-based organization, we don’t do repairs or tune-ups the same way that most bike shops do; at Chainbreaker, we don’t do work for anyone. Stop by the shop if you have a broken bike or need a bike for everyday transportation and can’t afford to pay for repairs or a brand-new bike. We will guide you through becoming a member, getting a bike, and fixing it up. If you don’t have time to work on your bike, we suggest visiting a local bike shop or looking through classified ads and yard sales. We can give you recommendations of places to look and what to look for. If you’re willing to work a couple of hours to get your bike, join us and get more involved. Once you get your bike through our project you can keep working to get a bus pass.

We try to keep our limited resources open to people who cannot afford to buy a new or used bike somewhere else. So, if you can afford to buy a new or used bike, please do so.

Donate to the BRC!

Donations of bikes, parts, equipment, and tools allow the Bicycle Resource Center to function. We will gratefully accept donations of any bike or bike parts that can be refurbished and made useable again. We can also use donations of anything on our BRC wish list.
